Privacy

Your photos stay on your phone. Fondly never sends them anywhere, and nobody at Fondly sees them. What Fondly learns about them stays with you.

Your photos

Fondly reads the photos you allow it to use and shows them back to you in a feed. There is no account, no advertising, and nothing that follows you around.

People

Fondly reads faces on your phone to group photos of the same person, and does the same for the dogs and cats it finds. None of that ever leaves the phone or reaches the developer. You can turn grouping off, and delete every face, group, and name, in Settings.

Places

When Fondly names a place, or formats a photo's date in the time zone where it was taken, Apple's geocoding service receives that photo's coordinates. Nothing else about the photo is sent, and Fondly receives no copy of your library.

Feedback

A shake report is an email you send yourself, from your own mail app, and you see everything in it before it goes: the app and system versions, a log of what Fondly was doing (never the names of people or the content of photos), and a screenshot with the photograph blurred. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

What Fondly keeps

Fondly keeps its index, names, hides, bookmarks, and what it has learned until you remove them. Reset feed learning starts the feed over and leaves your hides in place. Erase all Fondly data removes everything Fondly holds without changing your Photos library.

Apple

Fondly uses Apple's services for your iCloud library, place names, notifications, sharing, and device backups. Apple handles those under your own Apple settings and Apple's terms. Fondly's developer collects no data.
